In the recent past I have used the services of StepChange. They provided me with a Free Debt Management Plan to help me tackle my debts.
Today I am sharing a quick review of their service, in case anyone is looking to find out more information about them.
My StepChange Review
I had come across StepChange when searching through the Internet. I found their site and started taking a look around.
I entered all my information online. This took about 30 minutes. I did this using their online system launched in 2006 called Debt Remedy.
Once I had provided all the requested information, Debt Remedy suggested an IVA was the way forward to tackle my debts. Completely correct.
I opted for a Debt Management Plan instead. In part because I didn’t want anything official registering against my name.
Getting everything in place
A few days after completing the Debt Remedy system I received a call to confirm everything. They were very understanding and the process was very painless.
In terms of getting everything in place, it took about two weeks to be up and running with my plan with payments commencing shortly after then.
My creditors stopped calling once StepChange had been in contact with them which was a nice break from the usual missed calls to my mobile.
There is also an online portal so you can view your progress to date as well as check that your details and those of your creditors are still valid. The online portal for my Debt Management Plan was useful and gave an overview of my debts.
If you are struggling with debt then StepChange are definitely worth a call. I would recommend them and do so where I can. You don’t have to talk to them, try out their debt remedy service to see how they could help you.
You can find the contact details for StepChange on the Debt Help page.
